CHIME members went on a private, after-hours tour of the beautifully renovated 1910 Courthouse by Justices Boyce and Jamison. The renovation to restore the local historic landmark to its original glory (complete with the stunning rotunda) took 5+ years and more than $60M.
After the tour, the group walked to the Sam Houston Hotel for complimentary drinks and appetizers in the stunning Veranda. Justice Jamison and Judges Landrum and Garcia participated in a panel discussion, moderated by local attorney, Sophia Mafrige, and CHIME steering committee member, Courtney Carlson. Following the panel, CHIME participated in a private wine tasting downstairs inside the new restaurant and bar, the Pearl. One lucky CHIME member won a one-night stay at The Sam.
“Good mix of history, panel discussion and socializing.” – Joe Maxwell, Houston Downtown Management District
